"Serving the Children of the World"

What We Do!!

Do you know that Kiwanis is a world-wide organization with over 600,000 members dedicated to serving one child one community at a time?  Every year we invest more than $107 million and dedicate more than 18 million volunteer hours to strengthen communities and serve children.  Together with UNICEF, our goal is to ELIMINATE maternal and neonatal tetanus world-wide in five years which can be done with three $0.60 injections.  Do you know that our club sponsors Key Clubs at Blacksburg and Giles County high schools, a Builders Club at Blacksburg Middle School, or the bringing up grades program at Prices Fork Elementary School?  At Prices Fork and Eastern Montgomery Elementary Schools, we stock a food pantry for 4 and 5 year old at risk students and their siblings and read to kids at PFES. We supply parents of newborn and young children with ID kits, purchase books for at risk pre-school children, purchase gifts for Christmas angels, and donate to boy scouts, boys/girls state, children’s health initiate program, leadership training support for Virginia Tech Circle K students, donate to Salvation Army and volunteer as Bell Ringers. Also we honor an outstanding layperson of the year. Why not attend one of our programs or participate in one of our fundraisers including a golf tournament, making and selling Brunswick stew, a pancake breakfast, or handing out Kroger cards?
